Organization

Chore Chart
For me, it helps to give the kids jobs to do around the house.
Here is a chart of our daily jobs with space to write in the kids' names.

Dinner Menu
This is my dinner planning menu. This helps me to stretch my grocery budget farther, since when I plan I try to use up what I already have before buying something new.

Grocery Shopping Planning List
Make life easier on yourself - Keep your kitchen well-stocked.
This will help you to do that!!!!

Mom's Schedule
As homeschool moms, life can still get very hectic.
It helps me to schedule my day, even if I don't strictly stick to it.

Household Cleaning Schedule
To better better organize your daily and deep-cleaning efforts.
This helps guide me towards getting it all done!

Daily Schedule
Our school day contains about 3 hours of instruction.
Some states require a longer day, so you may need to adjust the schedule to meet your needs and the state's requirements.

Yearly Schedule
This schedule contains information about our holidays, vacations, end of grading periods, and when report cards should be expected.
This way grandparents and others know when we have school and when we don't. They also can know when to expect grade reports.

2007-2008 Schedule of Days
To help you plan out your school days and holidays.

Reporting

Progress Log
Since reporting can get unwieldy at times, my husband suggested this idea.
I use one set for each child per 45 days.
Then, when it is time to report what we've done, I have it all in one place.
This has been a real time saver!

Report Card Form
Use this form to make report cards for your kids.
It has room for mid-term (interim) grades as well as comments for each grading period.

Planning

Daily Lesson Plan Sheet
Last year, I used these sheets for my planning.
I printed out one for each day of the school year.

Yearly Thematic Planning Form

Thematic Unit Planning Form

For me, it is easier to plan everything out in advance,
so I have a general direction for our themes.
Here are blank planning forms for your planning needs.

Multiple Use Printables

Printables in this section can be used across several subject areas...

Blank Leaf Printable
I used this printable during my "Leaves" unit during.
I printed them on construction paper, filled in the leaves according to each child's ability.
Then, I had the kids sort and organize them in different ways:
4K: Trace over the numbers 0-9; Organize the days of the week in order; Capital/Lowercase letter match
Older kids: Organize days of the week & months of the year (write abbreviations on the back)

Math

Numbers & Counting

Matching, Sorting & Graphing

0-10 Chart
This chart is great for preschool counting skills. They can place the correct number of stickers (or draw them) in the black space.

Animal and Plant Sorting Worksheet
Sorting is an important skill. This activity is great for preschool or kindergarten-age children.

180 Days Chart
Great to use for daily skip-counting activities for 1st and 2nd graders.

Ball Distances Graphing Sheet
Find 5 different balls in your home and throw each one. Have the kids measure and graph how far each went. Also, discuss why they think they went so far.

Basic Addition Facts Test
This is the test I used for my kids after their Addition Unit.

Digital Camera
Geometry Unit Plan:

I created this one for use in public school, but modified it for homeschool use. It has 5 parts.
Lesson Plan #1
Presentation #1
Lesson Plan #2
Presentation #2
Handouts & Assessment

Comparing Tens and Ones Math Test
This is part of the test I used for my kids after their Place Value Unit.

Number Words to 100 Chart
This is a chart to help kids learning number words. It has the words and the corresponding numbers, too!

Gummy Bear Graphing Sheet
Give each child 20 gummy bears and let them sort them and make this bar graph. Then, talk about which color had the most, the least, or the same. Also, discuss how many bears in all.

Ordinal Number Stars
Each star is a different color, so kids can practice putting them in the order you tell them (ie: Everybody put the blue one first, then the red one second, etc...)

Preschool 1-1 Correspondence and Counting
A practice activity for 1-1 correspondence and counting numbers 0-9.

Shape Matching Games:
Preschool Game
1st Grade Game
2nd Grade Game
The kids took pictures of different shapes they found at home. We made them into games, each one with a different level of difficulty.

Skip Counting Chart
Kids can practice counting by numbers 2-10. Goes well with the 180 days chart.

Star Manipulatives
These are useful for making patterns with stars and for language arts games as well!

Weather Graphing Sheet
Each child has their own calendar. Each day, they record the weather using simple drawings. Then, at the end of the month they can graph the weather. I left the graphing sheet blank, since each child has to make a different kind of graph.

Watermelon Seeds Matching Game
Here is a template to use to make the game. Just fill in what you want your kids to match, cut out, and let them play!

Reading/ Alphabet

ABC Word Match
Print these out and let your child practice matching upper case to lower case letters.
To help the cards last longer, try printing them on card stock or photo paper.

Dolch Sight Word List and Flash Cards
For extra practice of high frequency words.

Letter Aa Search Worksheet
A fun activity to help preschoolers find and identify the letter Aa. This one could be adapted for other letters.

Nursery Rhymes:
Booklet of Nursery Rhymes
After printing, cut apart. Have kids draw a picture for each and highlight the rhyming words. Staple together to make a book.
Nursery Rhymes Rhyming Words Matching Game
Print, cut apart, and use the booklet to match the rhyming words.

Personal Dictionary:
Cover
Page
Having one of these is required in our state standards. It is a helpful way for 1st graders to develop connections to words.

Preschool Alphabet Booklet
Use these pictures and the directions to create a personalized letter booklet to help you child learn his or her letters.

Teddy Bear Booklet
Kids can write their own book similar to Brown Bear, Brown Bear!

Writing & Handwriting

Preschool Handwriting Practice
This page can help you teach your child how to write the letters of the alphabet. This is a little different from the standard "trace a row, write a row" method. In this one, they trace 3 letters, write one on their own. I have geared it down to a 4-year olds attention span, but it is blank, so you can modify as you need to.

Blank Handwriting Paper
This paper is designed for first and second graders for use in handwriting practice.
The paper is set in the landscape orientation (wide, rather than tall).
I use this type of paper for sentence writing practice and for when my kids practice writing their full names (first, middle, and last names).

Half Sheet Blank Handwriting Paper
This is similar to the paper above, but the page is designed to be cut down the center.
I use this type of paper for Spelling Dictation Tests and for practicing handwriting skills for individual letters.

Fine Motor Skills

Quilt Lacing Squares
This went along with a quilting unit we completed. It was great for teaching the kids how to sew (while strengthening those fine motor skills).

Science

Four Seasons Tree Craft
Print out and decorate each tree for each of the seasons.
(All apologies... I drew the trees myself and art was never my forte.)
Winter - glitter
Spring - yellow tissue paper balls
Summer - Green torn paper pieces
Autumn - Multi-colored torn paper pieces

Growth Booklet:
 Height/Weight Chart
 Graphing Sheet
Each month we measure, weigh and record our results. Then we plot our measurements on our graphs. Very useful in showing growth over time for Science and Math.

Plant Habitat Research Chart
After researching about different plant habitats, my oldest child used this form to add her information as well as clip art.

Social Studies

My Local Government Discussion Sheet
I used this sheet when we were learning about our local government during our Community & Neighborhoods Unit. The kids could write or draw something about each area of the local government.
